This Cookie Policy explains how HackifyTech Institute ("HackifyTech") uses cookies and similar technologies on hackifytech.com and related subdomains. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember you, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. We also use local storage and session storage for similar purposes (e.g. referral codes, auth tokens).
2. Types of cookies we use
| Type | Purpose | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, login, load balancing, form submission | Session / JWT storage, CSRF protection |
| Functional | Remember preferences, referral capture | Referral code in sessionStorage, UI preferences |
| Analytics | Understand traffic and improve content | Page views, funnels (if enabled) |
| Marketing | Measure ad campaigns (if enabled) | Conversion pixels — only with consent where required |
We do not use cookies to store your password in plain text.
3. What we store locally
Depending on features you use, your browser may store:
- Authentication token — to keep you logged in to your account or admin dashboard.
- Referral code — if you arrive via a referral link, until you register or clear storage.
- Admin session — separate token for staff dashboard access.
These are cleared when you log out or clear site data.
4. Third-party cookies
Third parties may set cookies when you:
- Complete a payment on a gateway checkout page.
- Watch embedded videos (e.g. YouTube/Vimeo) on course pages.
- Use finance/EMI partner flows.
We do not control third-party cookies; review their policies on their sites.
5. Your choices
- Browser settings: Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent login or checkout.
- Opt out of analytics: Where we use optional analytics, you may decline non-essential cookies when a banner is shown (if implemented).
- Do Not Track: We do not currently respond to DNT signals; we rely on consent mechanisms where required.
6. Updates
We may update this policy at /legal/cookies. Check the "Last updated" date at the top.
